HealthGuard Corrosion & Pretreatment
This package covers common issues with build-up in showers and tubs, and physical feel of the water. You can add this to your cart with another HealthGuard test for more comprehensive results, or you can purchase it on its own.
Tests for the following parameters:
Testing your water for pH, hardness, iron, manganese, and copper is important. These substances that occur naturally or result from human activities may not necessarily pose an immediate health risk, but can affect the quality and aesthetics of the water.
- pH: The pH level of water can indicate the water’s acidity or alkalinity. If the pH is too high or too low, it can affect the taste, appearance, and safety of the water, making it less pleasant to drink or use for cooking or bathing.
- Hardness: Hard water contains high levels of dissolved minerals, such as calcium and magnesium. While these minerals are not harmful, they can cause scaling in pipes and appliances, reducing their efficiency and lifespan.
- Iron and Manganese: High iron and manganese levels can cause staining of fixtures, pipes, and laundry. They can also affect the taste and odor of the water and cause health problems in high concentrations.
- Copper can leach from pipes and plumbing fixtures, especially in acidic water. High levels of copper in drinking water can cause gastrointestinal distress and liver or kidney damage over time.
Testing for these parameters can help you identify potential problems with your water and take appropriate measures to address them, such as installing a water treatment system or taking steps to reduce corrosion in your plumbing system.
