Frequently Asked Questions

We are your resource for questions related to our industry.  Below are some common questions we receive on a day-to-day basis.

Q – Do you have more than one location?

A – We are headquartered in Reading, PA, but can serve clients all over the contiguous United States.  We have sample collection and pick-up services in some areas, and outside of that area we can receive shipments via USPS, UPS or FedEx.  We also have service centers that can be used as drop off locations.  Contact us to learn if you are in our area.

Q – Can I use the containers I have on hand to collect my sample?

A – Many methods require specific containers and preservatives.  If you do not have a sampling kit provided by Suburban Testing Labs, please contact us via telephone to find out if your sample container meets the method protocol.  1-800-433-6595.

Q – Why should I choose your lab, even if the price is higher?

A – In the lab business, it is often said that you get what you pay for.  If you are looking for reliable data you can trust, then you won’t regret your decision to choose us.  We offer many additional value added services that the competition simply can’t afford to, including excellent project management, fast turnaround times, and responsiveness to questions and requests.   When it comes to your testing results, is there any other alternative?

Q- How can I find out if you are accredited for a particular method?

A- Our scope of accreditation is constantly updated, and we are always bringing on new capabilities.  Give us a call to find out the latest accreditation information.  1-800-433-6595.

Q- I need reports in a special electronic form.  Can you help me with that?

A – Absolutely.  Customized report solutions is where we excel.  At account set-up time, just let us know what your needs are and we will make it happen.

Q- I require sampling at night and on weekends.  Can you accept samples outside of normal business hours?

A – Yes we can!  Just call and speak with a Project Manager to coordinate meeting the needs of your sampling plan.  We understand that sampling doesn’t just happen between 8-4, and we will support your requirements.

Q- I never find out I have failing results until it’s too late.  What will you do differently?

A – We can contact you automatically as you request (phone, email, text) within 24 hours of receiving a result that is outside of your acceptable limits.  If it’s for Safe Drinking Water Act compliance, we contact you within 1 hour.
