Suburban Testing Labs is Now SPL

A New Name, A Shared Mission

On September 1, 2025, we officially begin a new chapter: Suburban Testing Labs will rebrand to SPL.

This evolution is rooted in our shared purpose—to deliver high-quality environmental testing with speed, accuracy, and integrity. It marks the next phase of our journey that began in November 2024, when Suburban Testing Labs joined the SPL family.

But this isn’t just about a new name or logo. It’s about what we can accomplish together. By aligning with SPL’s national environmental platform, we’re gaining expanded technical capabilities, deeper resources, and a broader reach—without changing the relationships and service model that make us who we are.

You’ll still work with the same team, in the same locations, with the same commitment to excellence. But now, we’re backed by the strength of a growing national network of best-in-class laboratories united by shared values and a client-first mindset.

Colin Duncan, CEO of SPL, reflected on the rebrand: “The Suburban Testing Labs rebrand to SPL unites two organizations with shared values, strong cultures, and a focus on operational excellence—providing confidence today and expanding possibilities for tomorrow.”

Rich Stump

“What made joining the SPL Family so meaningful wasn’t just the capabilities—it was the culture. We found a team that shares our passion for people, service, and doing the right thing. Together, we’re stronger and better positioned to support the people and communities we serve,” said Rich Stump, President of Suburban Testing Labs, and now Vice President of Operational Excellence for SPL.  “Our name is changing, but our commitment to you never will.”  Mr. Stump will continue to be a key leader in the SPL organization with existing staff, and the team will not change.

“The team in Reading is committed to supporting clean water, safer environments, and public health throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Our goal at SPL is to support the Suburban team in scaling their technical superiority and customer-first approach to as many communities as possible,” shared Andrew Parker, President of Operations, SPL.

This rebrand reflects our growth, but it doesn’t change who we are. If anything, it strengthens it.

We thank you for your trust over the years—and we’re excited to move forward together as SPL.
