We’re Proud of our People!  They have been up to great things and we wanted to take a moment to brag about them and recognize their recent accomplishments.   Our team has been very busy out-and-about in the community collecting recognition, teaching, and attending various conferences and events.

2015 Forty Under 40 Awards

2015 Top 50 Fastest Growing Businesses

Top 50 Businesses 2014The Business Weekly publication released the 2015 list of the Greater Reading Top 50 Businesses, as selected by the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce.  Once again, Suburban Testing Labs appeared on this list and was recognized this year at #27.   https://www.suburbantestinglabs.com/news/greater-reading-top-50-businesses-2015.html

 

Governor’s ImPAct Awards 2015 Finalist

YellowGovSuburban Testing Labs was nominated for the award by the Partnerships for Regional Economic Performance (PREP) network in recognition for creating jobs that pay and our positive economic impact within the commonwealth.  This award is given to a small business that has been an innovator within its industry, demonstrated revenue/profit growth, increased its workforce, and committed to the growth and development of its employees and community.

Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers

Beth Witouski – 4/12/15

Beth pic3Beth presented at the PSPE’s Boot Camp East conference in Philadelphia, PA, to a large audience of environmental consultants.  Her presentation was titled “Soil Science – Basic and Practical Methodologies from the Perspective of the Environmental Laboratory.”  Her presentation reviewed distinguishing between different soil matrices, field collection techniques, and overcoming challenges with soil and solid matrices.

 

USEPA/EPWPCOA Industrial Pretreatment Conference

Sara Stump – 4/23/15

Sara Stump HeadshotSara was an instructor for an audience of EPA Industrial Pretreatment Program coordinators at the Eastern PA Water Pollution Control Ops Assn’s annual conference for Industrial Pretreatment, co-sponsored by the USEPA.  Sara presented to 125 attendees on the Delaware River Basin Commission’s monitoring requirements of Polychlorinated Biphenols by EPA method 1668.

PWEA Industrial Pretreatment Workshops

Sara Stump – 5/11/15 and 5/5/15

Sara was an instructor to two groups of EPA Industrial Pretreatment Program coordinators at Pennsylvania Water Environment Association’s Industrial Pretreatment workshops on laboratory data quality.  As a part of her class, she educated attendees on the subject of: PADEP Target Quantitation Limits, Test Method Selection, Representative Sampling and Whole Effluent Toxicity Testing.

Society of Women Environmental Professionals

Linda Lohr – 5/27/15

Linda LohrSWEP of Greater Philadelphia held a technical program for a comprehensive look at the QA/QC process in the field, in the laboratory and in data verification/validation.  Our Technical Director, Linda Lohr, instructed a class of more than 30 Environmental Professionals about quality in the laboratory, fulfilling data quality objectives, and avoiding common pitfalls with laboratory analysis.

 PWEA PennTec Annual Conference

John Weisman – 6/3/15

John WeismanJohn spoke to young professionals at the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association’s annual conference in Lancaster.  He presented information about careers in the Laboratory part of the wastewater industry.  Suburban Testing Labs is a big advocate of attracting new talent to the industry to help build a strong succession following the predicted mass retirement that will happen in the coming years at top level positions.
